This tapestry is inspired by an original from a 15th Century series that is on display in the Cluny Museum in Paris.

It is part of six original tapestries from the Lady with Unicorn Series. The tapestry depicts the sense of touch with a graceful lady surrounded by various animals including a unicorn and a lion, representing purity and strength.

The background is the famous mille fleurs (thousand flowers) which is not only beautiful, but also works to separate the foreground figures from the red background.
