Hand woven in Belgium the artisans have done a fantastic job. The tapestry material has been blended in a mix of 70% cotton and 30% viscose. The water fountain and the water bodies in the background make for a pretty picture. Overgrowing trees with abundance of foliage and an imperial structure in the backdrop depict the park of Enghien that had been sold by Henry IV of France to the d'Arenberg family in the year 1607.
The tapestry takes its inspiration from the "Les Maisons Royales" series. Seen in this work is the chateau built in the early 20th century by financier and industrialist Baron Francois Empain, in a neo-classical style. The enchanting history of the tapestry is reflected in the workmanship and eye for detail. The carvings on the railings and the flower work on the pillars all add charm to this lovely home décor. This delicate tapestry is lined with a tunnel for hanging it easily. Also seen is the presence of someone with a book half read and a guitar that seeks to be strummed on. Grace the wall hanging on your walls and you have a sure shot show stopper there.
Domaine d'Enghien measures H 49 x W 75 inches.
