This gorgeous tapestry known as “Bain” takes us back to a bygone period where gallant knights and their beautiful ladies led a life that was both full of danger and adventure as well as romance and luxurious pleasure.
“Bain” dates back to the 15th century, to the time of Louis XII and is exhibited in the Cluny Museum in Paris. This particular tapestry shows a noble lady bathing, attended by her ladies-in-waiting, even as she is entertained by music and song. It is a charming scene that captures the essence of the Middle Ages in Europe as we see it in our mind’s eye.
