This tapestry, hand woven in North America, is inspired by the original artwork of William Morris in the late 19th century, He was one of the principal founders of the British Arts and Crafts movement that believed in hand-made woven art as opposed to machine made, mass produced work. His work reflects this philosophy – brilliant pieces of art, with the distinct stamp of a master craftsperson.
This tapestry called Angeli Landente has two angels playing their harps in harmony. What is striking about this piece of tapestry, other than the intricately worked floral background, is the richness of the robes of the angels. One can almost hear the rustle of silk! The floral border of acanthus leaves, is another striking feature of this tapestry. The wings in rust, balances the dominant powder blue shades of the tapestry.
This product, Angeli Landente, is made of 100% cotton. This is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
This tapestry is measures 53 x 44 inches.
