Accentuate your home décor, with this dramatic tapestry of an angel playing the lute.A fragment of fresco inspires the creation of this wall tapestry known as, Ange Au Luth, hand woven in France. It was painted around 1480, by Melozzo. This was part of a decoration of the Rise of Christ, of the church of the Saint Apostles in Rome. Melozzo, also know as Melozzo de Forli was one of the masters of the prospect, the art of showing objects three dimensionally on a plane surface, to create a sense of reality.
The angel with a chiseled face framed by her golden locks, is artistically poised against a blurred forest background. Only the soundboard, the carved rose and the strings of the lute are visible as it rests on her knee, as she plays on. The dominant color of the tapestry is green –shades of dark sea green, light aquamarine, teal and light green contrasted effectively by the coral of the sleeves of the robe.
This product, Ange Au Luth, is of cotton and viscose blend. The tapestry is backed by lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
This tapestry measures 22 x 18 inches.
