African Voyage II is a refined piece of work by Gosia Gajewska.It is a jacquard woven. The African zebra is a remarkable feature of this particular woven art. The black and white stripes of the zebra represent the union of two races. In the backdrop of the African continent, that had been the breeding ground of slavery.
Fine tapestries are woven on jacquard weaving looms. Nine and seventeen miles of thread are used in each design. This unique woven art creates a combination of colors and weaves into a distinct feature, which changes with the viewing angles.
The tapestry measures 38 x 53 inches. For maintenance it needs only a dry clean. The colors used are black, white, tan, beige and coral. Custom rods are also available. Sometimes Grande Tassel is recommended to accompany the tapestry.
